Change text case with a keyboard shortcut on Mac
macOS has no system-wide shortcut to change text case. Hotstash adds one: assign UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, or Sentence case to a Quick Transform shortcut. Copy the text, press the shortcut, and the converted text is ready to paste, in any app.
Launch offer: $4.99 instead of $9.99 until 1 January 2027.
Set up a case shortcut
- Open Hotstash → Settings → General → Quick Transforms.
- Pick a slot, choose the case you want (for example Title Case), and record a shortcut.
- Repeat for the other cases you use. You have five slots.
Use it
- Select text in any app and copy it.
- Press your shortcut.
- Paste the converted text over the original.
Without a shortcut
Press ⌘⇧V, select the item, and pick a case from Transform. On iPhone, tap the wand next to a clip in the Hotstash keyboard to insert it in a different case.
Questions
Is there a shortcut to change text to uppercase on Mac?
Not built into macOS for every app. Hotstash lets you assign UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, or Sentence case to a global shortcut.
Does it work in any app?
Yes. It works on what you copy, so it works in any app that lets you copy and paste text.
Hotstash is an independent app. Other product names belong to their owners and are used only to compare features.
