Guide
Keep snippets in clipboard folders
In Hotstash, folders sit next to Recents and Pinned as tabs. Put anything you reuse in one, such as addresses, bank details, canned replies, or code, and it stays there: folder items aren't cleared with history and sync to your iPhone. Give items names to find them by typing.
Launch offer: $4.99 instead of $9.99 until 1 January 2027.
Set up a folder
- Open Hotstash with ⌘⇧V and click + next to the tabs to create a folder, for example "Work" or "Replies".
- Right-click any item → Move to Folder.
- Right-click → Name to give an item a short name like "IBAN" or "Home address".
Why folders instead of pins
- Pins are one list; folders let you group snippets by project or purpose.
- Folder items stay out of Recents and are kept when you clear your history.
- Names you give items are searchable, and Paste Stack uses them to fill matching form fields.
On iPhone
Folders appear under Clipboard → Folders, synced through iCloud. Tap ⋯ on any item to move it into a folder.
Questions
Can a clipboard manager store permanent snippets?
Yes. Hotstash folders keep snippets permanently, separate from your rolling history, and sync them to your iPhone.
Are folder items deleted when I clear history?
No. Clearing history removes only unpinned items that aren't in a folder.
Hotstash is an independent app. Other product names belong to their owners and are used only to compare features.
